One-Day Excursion

Twenty members of the MUIC Student Association spent the day at the nearby Ban Klong Mahasawat School on February 22. They provided educational tools and equipment for the school, offered instruction and participated in activities both in and outside of the classroom.

Religious Ceremony

On February 19 MUIC conducted a religious ceremony at the Salaya campus Por Koon Toong shrine (across from Cup-pa Coffee House) to offer blessings for the newly-constructed extension (Building 3). MU President Piyasakol Sakolsatayadorn, members of his executive staff and representatives from various MU faculties joined members of the MUIC community in observing this celebration. After the ceremony the participants enjoyed a lunch on the ground floor of Building 3.

Exhibition

MUIC participated in Inventor’s Day 2008, an exhibition sponsored by the National Research Council of Thailand, on February 2-5 at the IMPACT Convention Center. The college featured the MUIC Learning Box, an educational tool that was devised by Ajarn Thomas Krey of the Foreign Languages Program.



 

MBA Orientation

The MBA Program in Business Modeling and Analysis conducted its first orientation session for 45 postgraduate students at Sathorn City Tower on Saturday, February 2. After an introduction to the program’s curriculum, the new students were escorted to the Salaya Campus where they enjoyed a luncheon at the Salaya Pavilion Hotel and toured the MUIC facilities. Classes began on February 4.

Study Abroad and Job Fairs

The college hosted its annual Job and Study Abroad Fairs on January 31 and February 1, respectively, on the ground floor of Building 1. Forty-five companies, representing the finance sector, manufacturing, the hotel industry, communication networks and the United Nations, actively recruited both MUIC and Mahidol University students.

Forty-nine universities from Asia, Europe and Australia, along with international educational agencies, participated in the Study Abroad Fair. The United Kingdom represented the largest contingent of universities. Both events were the largest ever, providing MUIC student with more opportunities for postgraduate studies and career opportunities.

Bloomberg Appeal
Alumnus Ponlakrit Toonkamthornchai (05) represented Bloomberg, a leading source of data, news and analytics for financial and legal professional, corporations, media organizations and private individuals around the globe, at the Job Fair. Bloomberg currently employs four MUIC alumni in its Singapore office and is actively targeting MUIC graduates. Those who are interested can visit ponlakrit@bloomberg.net
