Mimi Concert Series
MUIC and Mahidol University’s College of Music are sponsoring a series of mini concerts ever Thursday, from 12.300 to 1:30 p.m., at the Por Koon Toon Shrine, directly across from Cuppa Coffee House. Everyone is invited to these concerts; admission is free.
The first concert was held on August 21, featuring traditional Thai music. The following week a brass ensemble performed a variety of musical selections.

UN CONFERENCE
The Thai Ministry of Education conducted a selection process in order to find two young adults who will represent Thailand at the 63rd Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York this coming October. Mr. Tanawat Phaovibul, a second-year Social Science major, has been selected. He will participate in General Assembly sessions and special activities designated for Youth Week, which include serving on social and human rights committees, with a focus on the rights of the child.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is sponsoring the two Thai representatives, the other of whom is Ms. Roazita Ma, an MUIC alumna who graduated in 2006.

OPEN HOUSE 2008
MUIC’s Open House 2008 on August 6 attracted over 3,000 visitors: prospective students, parents, teachers, school counselors, embassy representatives and the general public. They had an opportunity to tour the facilities, learn about the college’s academic programs and student clubs as well as participate in a variety of featured activities.
