MUIC to publish student's short stories

After successfully publishing a book with short stories of MUIC students from the creative writing class, the English Language Department is currently seeking new stories for a second edition of "Student Stories from MUIC".

If you have taken Creative Writing, you can now submit your story for publication. The book will be placed in the library as well as a limited number for sale.

Include your name, student ID number, the name of your creative writing instructor and email it to icmark@mahidol.ac.th
Please make the subject line "Story Submission" and attach your story as a MSWord document.
Stories should include a title and be no longer than 8,000 words; selections will be based on artistic merit. Deadline for submission: September 30th.

Hi Mark,

I think it's a great idea for students to have a vehicle to express themselves. It's great too that the collection not only gives them a voice, but allows them to use the English language for creative output instead of for the usual output like creating an academic essay or in preparation for an oral presentation. I'm sure that this allows them to gain more confidence when using the language and that has to be a positive thing.
